Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be bet on in casinos across the world, or in your house on your home computer, through an Internet account. The regulations are very simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the greatest combination of cards possible in order to win cash. In this respect it is very similar as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with competing players. Of course, techniques used in a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the gambler inserts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will be "dealt" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and players will need to now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.
After the enthusiast has decided on which cards he would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be dealt if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.
Generally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that knowledgeable players are able to pick the most money-making game every instance.
After the initial round has played out, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Additionally, some versions of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to increase their wins, in which instance a further game is played. There are also variations among individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
