Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that discerning players are agile enough to choose the most profitable ones every time.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Additionally, some styles of the game allow the bettor an opportunity to double their wins, in which instance a further hand is played. There are also variations between specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
